Somerset man killed in Route 22 crash in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER – One Somerset man died and another person was injured in a crash on Route 22 near MetLife late Wednesday night.

Around 11:58 p.m. June 21, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by Charles Young of Somerset, and a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by Wallace Wilder of Charlotte, North Carolina, collided near the traffic signal of the MetLife facility on in the westbound lanes of the highway, Bridgewater Police Officer Brian Sujansky said.

Young was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Details of the accident were not available.
