A Somerville man plans on buying a house after winning $1M on a scratch-off ticket

Jose Pineda of Somerville has won a $1M prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Monopoly 50X” instant game.

Pineda chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He plans on using his winning to buy a house.

His winning ticket was purchased at Bairos Liquors located at 68 Broadway in Somerville. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
