The weather outside is beginning to heat up, and locals are looking for things to do throughout Morgan County.

Here are five events happening on the weekend of May 13 and 14 throughout Morgan County.

Veterans' Creative Arts Festival

The Martinsville Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary will host a Creative Arts Festival for local veterans from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at the Art Sanctuary, 190 N. Sycamore St., Martinsville.

Members of the public are invited to attend Friday's event.

Morgan County restaurants: 10 places where you can eat outdoors.

The show's winner will be eligible to participate in the National Creative Arts Festival in 2003.

Also at the Art Sanctuary that evening is the 2nd Friday Open Studios which allows residents to meet local artists inside their studios at the former church.

Morgan County Farmers' Market

The Morgan County Farmers' Market has returned at both its Mooresville and Martinsville locations.

The Mooresville Market will occur from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through September at the Mooresville Friends Church, 50 N. Monroe St.

'Everyone is family': Come 'n Git It Diner offers a taste of home cooking in Martinsville.

The Martinsville Market will occur from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through September at the Main Connection, 460 S. Main St., Martinsville.

Items at the markets include locally produced baked goods, produce and décor items.

Downtown Mooresville Street Fair

The streets of downtown Mooresville will be packed this weekend for the Downtown Mooresville Street Fair.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

Start your engines: New owners ready to welcome community back to Paragon Speedway.

There will be 60 vendors, fie food trucks and Indy Beer Taps will be around to serve drinks.

No need to worry if you are unable to make Saturday's event, as it will be hosted two more times — on July 9 and Sept. 17.

Mooresville Touch a Truck

Mooresville's Pioneer Park, 1101 N. Indianapolis Rd., will host its Touch a Truck event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 14.

Some of the vehicles at Saturday's event include public safety, utility, construction and transportation vehicles.

Local businesses: Brickhouse Loft and Brickhouse on Main bring events, travelers to downtown Martinsville.

The vehicles will be set up in the aquatic center's parking lot, rain or shine, and is free.

Drink at the Creek Summer Concert Series

The Drink at the Creek Summer Concert Series continues Saturday, May 14, out at Cedar Creek Winery, 3820 Leonard Rd., Martinsville.

The concert series is produced by RD Productions, LLC.

This weekend's acts include Resurrection, a Journey tribute band, and Fancy Sauce.

Others are reading: Doug and Paula Molin ready to welcome all to Foxcliff Golf Club.

The cost of the event is $15 for advance tickets and $20 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free.

Locally-crafted beers, wines and spirits are available — as are food vendors.
