Sonic Drive-In in Northport has extensive damage after Friday morning fire

The Sonic Drive-In off Lurleen Wallace Boulevard in Northport had extensive damage after a Friday morning fire.

Northport Fire Rescue initially responded to the report of the blaze at 6:22 a.m. at 2910 Lurleen B. Wallace Blvd. and were assisted by units from Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation, but Capt. Jason Norris of Northport Fire Rescue said the blaze appears to be accidental.
