Alongside the trailer, it was announced that the six-part series will drop on streaming service Paramount+ in the US and Canada on Friday, April 26, and in other countries such as the UK the following day.

In the new series, Sonic's enemy turned friend Knuckles takes centre stage as the title character and heads on an "action-packed journey of self-discovery", with Idris Elba returning to voice the grumpy warrior.

Also crossing over from the film franchise are Adam Pally as Wade Whipple and Tika Sumpter as Maddie, while Ben Schwartz and Colleen O'Shaughnessey will continue to lend their voices to the roles of Sonic and Tails.

The TV spin-off was announced back in February 2022, but this new trailer is an exciting first look at what fans can expect from the show.

In the clip, Knuckles is seen making himself a little too comfortable in Wade and Maddie's house, attempting to turn their home into a "gladiator fighting pit", much to the annoyance of Maddie.

Knuckles then stars to train Wade as his protégé, teaching him the ways of the Echidna warrior – but he has enemies who want to find him and take his power.

Also attached to this TV project are Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh), Cary Elwes (Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future).

Knuckles will be released on Paramount+ on April 26 in the US, and April 27 in the UK.
