John Campbell, the owner of The River Palm Terrace, a beloved 39-year-old steakhouse in Edgewater, has lots of mottos.

One of his favorites was told to him by a customer: "90% of success is just showing up." He later learned that that saying is attributed to Woody Allen.

So when a northjersey.com videographer showed up this morning to shoot Campbell in his dining room (for a profile this reporter is writing on Campbell), Campbell decided to share the motto. He didn't however attribute it to Allen because, he said, "his name is mud now."

So imagine his surprise when he sees Soon Yi Previn, Allen's wife, waltzing out of his restaurant this afternoon after lunching on sushi and Caesar salad.

"You can't make this stuff up," Campbell said.

According to Campbell, he had gone out of his restaurant for a bit. When he opened the door to go back in, he saw two women approaching. He kept the door open for them and realized that one looked awfully familiar. He asked the hostess if that may have been Soon Yi Previn. She didn't know. He asked her to "Google her." It was Yi Previn.

"No one knew who she was," Campbell said. But she showed up.

He's just happy that sushi chef Andy Lin, known for hobnobbing with customers, stopped at her table to make sure the sushi was to her liking.
