Soros' Open Society Foundations announces new projects in Ukraine

The Open Society Foundations, founded by George Soros and currently headed by Alexander Soros Jr., plans to implement new projects in Ukraine related to the support of Ukrainians during the full-scale war.

"Open Society Foundations plans to launch new projects. We discussed our priority needs," Shmyhal said at the end of the meeting.

Among the priorities discussed, the head of government named:

  • economic recovery,

  • rebuilding,

  • social sphere,

  • programmes to support small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, veteran businesses.

Shmyhal also described such areas of cooperation as demining, energy, and logistics promising.

"We focused separately on establishing justice. We must hold Russia accountable and make it pay. In particular, with the confiscation of frozen assets in the West," Shmyhal said, without elaborating.
