'Sorry They Smell a Bit': Victorious England Player Gives Boots to Young Fans After Euro Final

Defender Lotte Wubben-Moy made England’s Euro 2022 victory even more special for two young fans at Wembley on Sunday, handing them her boots after the final whistle, and telling them “Sorry they smell a little bit”.

Video filmed by Kimberley Woodley shows Wubben-Moy signing her football boots for Woodley’s daughter Hope and Hope’s friend Bella. Woodley said her daughter was “ecstatic” to receive a boot.

“Hope plays football at three clubs, including Chelsea FC advanced foundation, and dreams of being a future Lioness,” Woodley told Storyful. “Football is Hope’s lifeline. She has autism, ADHD and dyslexia and playing gives Hope an outlet and the confidence to succeed.”

The women’s Euro win marks the first time since the 1966 men’s World Cup that England has won a major football trophy. Credit: Kimberley Woodley via Storyful
