The SoulCal Experience High Desert Music Festival at Adelanto Stadium will transport visitors to a time when chart-topping sounds filled the radio airwaves, vinyl records, cassettes and 8-track tapes.

Presented by Desert Community Bank, Saturday’s old-school festival will include musical groups like Con Funk Shun, Lakeside, Tierra Legacy and the Bromatics, a cover band with a Motown Tribute sound.

Signed to Mercury Records in 1976, Con Funk Shun enjoyed nearly a decade of successful national and overseas tours, eleven chart-topping albums and numerous hit singles.

Some of Con Funk Shun’s hits include ballads like “Baby I’m Hooked (Right Into Your Love),” “Straight From The Heart” and “Loves Train.”  Also, “Chase Me,” “Fun” and “Got To Be Enough.”

Tierra Legacy, which includes original members of Tierra and their children, will perform many of their greatest hits and cover versions, including the wedding song “Together.”

Originally Performed in 1967 By The Intruders, in Late 1980, "Together" was revived by Tierra, whose rendition Reached No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Latino-based group Tierra is also known for performing what is known by many as the greatest breakup song of all time, “Let’s Just Kiss and Say Goodbye,” written by Manhattans member Winfred "Blue" Lovett.
