Sounds like Christmas: Shelton State holds sing-along, tree lighting

Shelton State Community College hosted the annual tree lighting and sing-a-long Nov. 29 in the atrium of the Martin campus off Old Greensboro Road in Tuscaloosa. The sing-along blended sacred and secular holiday pieces performed by the Shelton Singers and the Shelton State Jazz ensemble, along with participation from the audience. The tree lighting event highlighted Shelton State's "Here Comes Santa Claus" annual giving campaign.  Now in its 12th year, "Here Comes Santa Claus is sponsored by the Shelton State Ambassadors and allows students, faculty, staff, and community members to assist those in need.  Donations will be accepted through Dec.  9.  To learn how to help, contact Forrest Smith at fsmith@sheltonstate.edu.
