Source: Madison Keys to join finalized Team USA for Billie Jean Cup

Add Madison Keys to the vaunted Team USA that will compete in the Billie Jean Cup in Delray Beach in mid-April.

According to a tennis source, the five-women USA team has been finalized with Keys joining local products Coco Gauff (Delray Beach) and Jessica Pegula (Boca Raton) on the squad that will face Austria in the BJK Cup qualifier at the Delray Beach Tennis Center April 14-15.

Keys, 28, is former US Open finalist in 2017 and is ranked No. 20 in singles. The Orlando resident is a five-time Grand Slam semifinalist and once was as high at 7 in the world.

Keys, Gauff (ranked 6th) and Pegula (3rd) will also be joined by St. Petersburgh resident Danielle Collins, a 2022 Australian Open finalist who also has been as high as high 7th in the world and currently ranked 31st.

According to the source, the fifth USA competitor will be Caty McNally, the doubles partner of Gauff who is 21 years old and ranked 72nd.

Legend Billie Jean King is planning to attend the Delray event. There’s hope the Williams sisters, who live in nearby Palm Beach Gardens, will pop in too.

According to the source, the Austrian contingent in the women’s team event once called the Federation Cup will feature No. 93 Julia Grabher, No. 219 Sinja Kraus, No. 468 Barbara Haas, No. 528 Tamira Paszek and No. 912 Melanie Klaffner.

The winner advances to the BJK Cup Finals in November at a site to be determined.
