The Tennessee Titans have started shaking up their coaching staff.

Inside linebackers coach Jim Haslett, assistant defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze, assistant special teams coach Matt Edwards and assistant strength and conditioning coach Mondray Gee won't be retained on staff, a source with direct knowledge of the moves confirmed to The Tennessean on Tuesday.

The source spoke on the condition of anonymity, as the team has yet to announce coaching moves. Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday the team would discuss staff changes throughout this week.

The biggest name of the bunch let go is the 66-year-old Haslett, a former NFL head coach who had been the Titans’ linebackers coach since 2020. The team boosted an already strong inside linebackers room by claiming former Texans star Zach Cunningham off waivers Dec. 9. But Rashaan Evans and Jayon Brown, both of whom are pending unrestricted free agents, regressed under Haslett’s watch in 2021.

Udeze was in his first season as a Titans’ defensive line assistant, a role he served with the Seahawks in 2012. He was Vanderbilt’s linebackers coach in 2020.

Edwards had been with Tennessee since 2018. He was the team’s defensive assistant in 2020 and had two stints as the assistant special teams coach (2018-19; 2021).

Gee just finished his third season with the Titans after nine seasons with the Seahawks (2010-18).

There has been no word on the status of the Titans’ offensive assistants.
