Sources: Andy Schatzley to return as Rocket City Trash Pandas manager

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — Baseball season is almost here and the Rocket City Trash Pandas are finalizing their coaching staff for the 2024 season.

Sources tell News 19 that manager Andy Schatzley will return as the Trash Pandas skipper for his third season with the ball club.

Schatzley holds a record of 139-137 with the club and led the Trash Pandas to the postseason in 2022.

Along with Schatzley, sources say, pitching coach Michael Wuertz, coach Dann Bilardello and strength & conditioning coach David Robertson are all expected to return.

Several new faces will be joining the Trash Pandas for the first time in 2024 including new hitting coach Joel Chimelis and new assistant pitching coach Doug Henry.

The Trash Pandas will begin the season on the road at the Tennessee Smokies on April 5 before the home opener against Birmingham on April 9.
