Denver Nuggets guard/forward Will Barton will re-sign with the team on a two-year, $32 million deal, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Barton declined his player option to become an unrestricted free agent in hopes of returning to Denver.

The 30-year-old playmaker with athleticism and a shooting touch averaged 12.7 points during the 2020-21 season and shot a career-high 38.1% from beyond the arc.

He was sidelined for the latter part of the season with a right hamstring injury and returned in the second-round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix swept Denver to advance to the Western Conference finals. Barton was the team’s leading scorer in the elimination game, scoring 25 points with five boards.

Barton has been with Denver since 2014, averaging 13.9 points per game and shooting 43.8% over those seven seasons. He was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 40th overall pick of the 2012 draft and started five games over two and half seasons there.
