South Bend Community School Corp. announces dates of in-person high school graduations

SOUTH BEND — South Bend Community School Corp. plans to celebrate its class of 2022 with three days of in-person graduation ceremonies.

The district will recognize its high school graduates from June 9 to June 11 this year at TCU School Field.

South Bend graduates have celebrated commencement for the past two years at Four Winds Field to adhere to coronavirus safety protocols.

In a news release this week, district officials said the corporation will continue to enforce safety measures recommended by the St. Joseph County Health Department to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure.

Those steps include limiting the number of guests each student can invite and requiring all in attendance to wear masks and use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the venue.

A live stream will be available on the school corporation's YouTube page for those wishing to view the ceremonies remotely.

South Bend Community School Corp. commencement ceremonies

Commencement ceremonies for each school will take place as follows:

  • John Adams High School: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. June 9 (doors open at 5:45 p.m.)

  • Riley High School: 6 - 7:30 p.m. June 10 (doors open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • Rise Up Academy/South Bend Virtual School: 10 - 11 a.m. June 11 (doors open at 9:30 a.m.)

  • Adult Education: 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. June 11 (doors open at noon)

  • Clay High School: 2:30 - 4 p.m. June 11 (doors open at 2 p.m.)

  • Washington High School: 5 - 6:30 p.m. June 11 (doors open at 4:30 p.m.)
