South Carolina football 2022 schedule: TV, kickoff times for first 3 games set

South Carolina football will play on national television in back-to-back games to open conference play during the 2022 college football season, the Southeastern Conference announced Thursday.

The Gamecocks will host Georgia State on Sept. 3 (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+/SECN+) in the season opener, before traveling to Arkansas to play the Razorbacks on Sept. 10 (noon, ESPN) and hosting reigning national champion Georgia on Sept. 17 (noon, ESPN).

The start times and TV announcements for the first three games of the season were part of a broader announcement from the SEC on Thursday.

Shane Beamer is entering his second season as coach. The Gamecocks exceeded national expectations during his first season in Columbia in 2021 by finishing 7-6.

The Gamecocks are coming into 2022 with plenty of momentum following a thrashing of North Carolina in the Duke's Mayo Bowl and signing Oklahoma transfer quarterback Spencer Rattler in the offseason
