Jun. 13—A South Carolina man is believed to have drowned in Newfound Lake in Bristol on Monday, authorities said Tuesday morning.

Search crews discovered the body of Ole Romero, 38, of Charleston, in the water near the residence where he was staying, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

Romero was taken to Wellington State Park, where an ambulance was waiting.

"Lifesaving measures were attempted but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene," said Fish and Game.
