Senator Tim Scott will begin a “Faith in America” tour later this month that will take him from his home state of South Caroline to Iowa, as he lays the ground work for what looks like a run at the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

Scott, the only Black Senate Republican and a top party fundraiser, is expected to host a Black History Month event in Charleston, S.C., in mid February followed shortly thereafter by a speech at the Polk County Republican Party’s Lincoln Dinner.

“If you’re going to have a message about restoring faith in America, what better place to go? Iowa represents the heartland of America. They understand the importance of these conversations and respect for the process to give tough, honest feedback,” an advisor to Scott told Fox News.

“This tour will be more than just speeches and policy events. We have this great chance to listen to people across the country and to share a vision of hope and opportunity,” the official added.

Scott’s opportune visit to two crucial Republican primary states comes on the heels of reports that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, is poised to announce her candidacy to run as the Republican presidential nominee on February 15.

Haley, a former Trump appointee and ally, took a shot at her former boss recently while speaking on Fox.

“When you’re looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for new generational change…I don’t think you need to be 80 years old to go be a leader in D.C.”

However, Trump noted that Haley had checked with him first. “Go by your heart if you want to run,” former president Trump said he told Haley when she called seeking his advice.

Although Trump is the only candidate so far to formally enter the GOP primary race, many of the president’s former associates including Vice-President Mike Pence, National-Security Adviser John Bolton, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo may enter the race.

Scott was reelected to the Senate on Election Day in 2022 by a margin of 26 percentage points.
