South Carolina women's basketball score vs. Texas A&M Aggies: Live updates from SEC opener

COLUMBIA — South Carolina women's basketball kicks off its SEC schedule against Texas A&M after completing its non-conference slate undefeated with three wins over ranked teams.

The No. 1 Gamecocks (12-0) have held the top spot in the Associated Press poll for 27 consecutive weeks. They take on the Aggies (5-5) and former Georgia coach Joni Taylor at Colonial Life Arena on Thursday ( 7 p.m., SEC Network). Texas A&M did not face any ranked opponents in its non-conference schedule.

Though the Aggies aren't a major threat on paper, South Carolina lost its first SEC game of the 2021-22 season against an underwhelming Missouri squad that went on to finish 7-9 in the conference. It was the Gamecocks' only regular-season loss en route to winning the national championship.

South Carolina is 9-4 in its series with Texas A&M and has won nine of the past 10 matchups. The Aggies' last victory was during the 2020-21 season in College Station, but the Gamecocks are undefeated in the matchup on their home court since losing the first meeting in 2013.
