South Central picks up road win at St. Paul

Dec. 23—NORWALK — Visiting South Central outscored host St. Paul by 13 points in the middle two quarters of Thursday's 46-39 Firelands Conference win inside Harvey Keller Gymnasium.

Kendyl Beverly led the Trojans (3-4, 2-2) with 17 points, followed by Grace Lamoreaux with 11 and Angela Williams with 10.

For St. Paul, Molly Ridge scored 15 points, while Chloe Smith added eight.

St. Paul will entertain Fremont St. Joseph on Tuesday, and South Central hosts Monroeville on Wednesday.

NEW LONDON — The Wildcats maintained their spot tied atop the FC with Western Reserve following Thursday's rout of the visiting Cougars.

Eight different players scored for New London (6-4, 4-0), led by Emilee Rowland with 12 points.

The Wildcats host Western Reserve next Friday with sole possession of first place in the league on the line.

SHELBY — The Crimson Flashes saw their four-game win streak stopped by the rival Whippets, who outscored them by 15 points over the first three quarters of Thursday's non-league win.

Maklnley Schaffer finished with 15 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks for Willard (4-5), which also got 16 points, eight assists and four steals from Syana Sivongsak. Camryn Wiers added nine points and nine rebounds, and Caitlyn Weaver scored nine points with three assists.
