South Central sloils team Oklahoma Bound

Nov. 24—GREENWICH — The South Central FFA rural soils team participated Oct. 8 in the State FFA Soils Career Development Event in Lockborne, Ohio.

The State Contest is an educational activity to teach students to evaluate land and soils for agricultural purposes. Students evaluate the land for formation, slope, conservation practices, drainage capacity and soil types.

South Central's team consisted of Lydia Chaffee, Kaili Ingram, Bryan Chaffee, Taylor Smith and Isabella Kimberlin. South Central placed second in the state and qualified for the National Land and Range Judging Competition in Oklahoma City to take place in May of 2023.
