South Dakota Class A Legion baseball state tourney: Eight-team field filled with strong contenders

Jul. 26—RAPID CITY — Only eight teams remain in pursuit of the 2022 South Dakota Class A American Legion baseball state championship, with the final push toward a state title starting Wednesday.

A new champion will be crowned, as the 2021 winners of Renner were knocked out in the play-in round, evidence of the strength of this year's field.

With quarterfinal action set to get underway on Wednesday morning at Fitzgerald Stadium, home of Rapid City Post 22, here's a look at the eight-team field:
