South Dakota's game-winning Hail Mary against South Dakota State has earned a nomination for Smooth Play of the Year at The Sports Illustrated Awards.

It's the latest national nod for Coyotes quarterback Carson Camp's 57-yard touchdown to Jeremiah Webb with just a second left on the clock. The play clinched the second-straight South Dakota victory over in-state rival South Dakota State and a spot in the FCS playoffs for just the second time in program history.

South Dakota lost 22-10 to Southern Illinois in the first round last Saturday.

Camp and Webb will attend the ceremony on behalf of South Dakota, USD athletics director David Herbster said in a release.

“We couldn’t be more excited that Sports Illustrated has recognized this play as one of its top plays of the year,” Herbster said in the release.

Professional golfer Jordan Spieth's shot at the Ryder Cup, then-Gonzaga point guard Jalen Suggs' Final Four buzzer-beater against UCLA, and Marshall's overtime goal to win the program’s first men’s soccer title are the other three nominees for the award.

The awards will be streamed worldwide at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
