The South Dakota preseason high school football poll is out. See who made the cut.

Brandon Valley, Pierre, Madison and Winner lead the 11-man football classes in the preseason South Dakota Prep Media Football Poll. The Lynx are the only non-defending champions to take the top spot in the poll, as the Governors, Bulldogs and Warriors start their title defense at No. 1 in the polls.

In 9-man, the newly-promoted from 9A Howard leads 9AA, while Canistota and defending 9B champion Dell Rapids St. Mary lead 9A and 9B, respectively — making five of the seven preseason No. 1 teams defending state champions.

This week is the first week of games for classes 11B through 9B.
