The New York City-based International Council of Shopping Centers is hosting the virtual conference “Now & Next: Retail in the age of Covid-19” through Sept. 30 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The agendas include the talks “The Future of Work,” “How data will reshape retail decision-making,” and “The year ahead for: Restaurants.” Speakers include Walmart International President & CEO Judith McKenna, Ulta Beauty CEO Mary Dillon, WeWork CEO & President Sandeep Mathrani, and Centennial Real Estate COO Whitney Livingston. Sept. 30

The D.C.-based American Institute of Architects will host a virtual fall conference “2020 American Institute of Architects/Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture intersections research conference: Carbon” through Oct. 2. Talks run from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Discussions include “Leadership, labor and transforming practice,” “New visions for global cities + buildings,” and “Energy modeling and high performance design.” Speakers include Sarah Truitt, program manager of the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Energy Systems Integration Facility, Lotte Schlegel, executive director for the nonprofit Institute for Market Transformation, and Gensler Boston Co-Managing Director Douglas Gensler. The North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency will host the free “Downtown NoMi Business Community Zoom Open House” from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. NMCRA staff will present revitalization plans.
