South Korea-based bakery café coming to Easton

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A South Korea-based bakery café is opening its first central Ohio location in Easton, with plans to expand in the Columbus area.

A Paris Baguette will open at 3969 Merchants Row, marking the bakery’s second location in Ohio, and its first location in the Columbus area. Paris Baguette currently operates one Ohio storefront, which opened in Cincinnati in 2022.

The fast-casual eatery serves a variety of cakes, breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads and coffees. The bakery also offers catering services.

“We are a very unique and amazing concept,” said Chief Development Officer Eric Lavinder. “We do all of our own in-house baking, all of our croissants, all of our breads [and] pastries.”

The building Paris Baguette will be moving into previously housed LemonShark Poke and Makai Grill. The restaurant closed in February 2022, one year after it opened.

While an official opening date hasn’t been set, Lavinder said the company is estimating it will open in September. The concept has plans to ramp up in Ohio – it currently has nine franchisees looking for locations in the state, and four specifically looking in the greater Columbus area, according to Lavinder.

Paris Baguette started in South Korea in 1986 before coming to the United States in 2005. Paris Baguette now has more than 4,000 locations across the globe, including 140 units open in the U.S. across 30 states.
