“As a district, our number one goal is to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for
all members of our school community,” O’Donnell said in a statement. “Prompt action was taken regarding the recent bed bug discovery, including inspections and treatments by professional pest control experts. We are addressing this situation and supporting those impacted.”

According to the statement that was sent out to parents, a pest control company inspected areas of concern after the discovery and there were reportedly no more bed bugs found. A second inspection will take place later in the evening on Thursday.

The pest control company and the school district established a monitoring and inspection schedule to reduce the possibility of finding bed bugs again.

O’Donnell said that school officials are working with the people impacted by the pests to help mitigate the spread off of school property.
