South Park fans may have noticed Kenny looking a little different earlier this season.

The character, who has been in the show since it began in 1997, is best known for hiding under his bright orange hoodie that obscures his appearance as well as his voice.

But season 26's fifth episode, titled 'DikinBaus Hot Dogs', Kenny revealed his face for the first time in almost 10 years.

In the episode, Kenny was seen briefly during a montage in which he and Cartman dream of starting their own restaurant.

The character was seen ditching his orange hoodie in favour of a T-shirt that reads 'restaurant owner' and a pair of sunglasses. His blonde hair was clearly visible – and perfectly styled to boot.

South Park fans have been given minimal glimpses of Kenny beneath the hoodie, with the last occurrence happening in 2012.

The 26th season of the animated comedy came to an end with its finale last night (March 29), but the good news for fans is that it will be back for plenty more episodes.

In 2021, the show was renewed up to season 30, which means it will continue to air until at least 2027.

Last August, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone discussed keeping South Park fresh after two and a half decades on air.

"We’ll sit there in the writers’ room sometimes and just be so stuck, and I’ll be like, 'How can we not know what the f**k we’re doing after 25 years?'," Parker told Los Angeles Times. "We never want to repeat ourselves.

"There’s definitely tropes, but for it to be funny, it’s got to be new. Just going 'Cartman is fat, and he likes cheesy poofs' is not going to make us laugh."

South Park airs on Comedy Central. It's also available via streaming services including Prime Video and NOW in the UK, with selected episodes on Netflix. In the US, it's also available on HBO Max.
