South Plum Street closed for gas leak

FRUITA, Colo. (KREX) — South Plum Street in Fruita is closed as officials work to contain a natural gas leak.

Lower Valley Fire District officials posted Wednesday afternoon that S. Plum from Aspen to 6&50 is closed. LVFD, Fruita Police Department and Xcel are on the scene now.

The road is still closed as of 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, per the LVFD Facebook page. This story will be updated when the road reopens.
