Thanksgiving high school football is a Massachusetts tradition.

On brisk Thursday mornings, towns come out in full force to support their local teams in their annual rivalry games. But some games have a little extra juice this fall.

Yes, we have the classic rivalries like Quincy vs. North Quincy and Plymouth North vs. Plymouth South, which are big games no matter what the records are, but there are four games that directly determine league championships.

On Wednesday night, Bristol-Plymouth and Blue Hills will battle for the Mayflower League title. On Thursday, undefeated teams Hull and Duxbury will try to keep their undefeated seasons alive while vying for league titles. The Pirates will play Cohasset for the South Shore League Tobin Division title, while the Dragons will battle Marshfield for the Patriot League Keenan Division crown.

The game that deserves the most eye balls will be played at Fenway Park. Once again, the winner of Brockton and Bridgewater-Raynham will walk aways as Southeast Conference champs. The game will also be the last on the sidelines for legendary Brockton coach Peter Colombo.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

South Shore Tech 40, Holbrook/Avon 8: Jared Madden threw two TD passes, ran for a TD and returned a kick for a score in the win for the Vikings (8-4). Clifford Munroe hauled in a pair of TD passes in the win. Marquis Dobay-Lindsay ran for 101 yards and a TD in the loss for the Bulldogs (4-6).

Blue Hills 34, Bristol-Plymouth 18: The Warriors (5-7) claimed the Mayflower Large Vocational title with the win. Caiden Montas ran for three TDs.

Brockton 31, Bridgewater-Raynham 20: The Boxers (9-2) send legendary coach Peter Colombo into retirement with a win at Fenway Park and a Southeast Conference title. K.O. Osinubi (65 and 1 yard) and Cam Monteiro (77 and 6 yards) ran for two TDs apiece for Brockton. Dawson Dubose scored two TDs in the loss for the Trojans (5-6).

Thursday

Hanover 30, Norwell 13: The Hawks (9-3) beat the Clippers (4-7) at home. Nick Freel ran for a pair of TDs in the win.

Whitman-Hanson 35, Abington 30: The visiting Panthers (6-5) secured a winning record by edging the Green Wave (4-7) for their first win on the holiday since 2018. W-H senior captain Evan Casey ran for four touchdowns, including the winning 50-yard score with 1:58 remaining in the game. For Abington, junior AJ Nash scored on a 43-yard run and a 90-yard kickoff return, both in the third quarter. Abington sophomore QB Michael Reilly threw a 12-yd TD pass to senior Darrin Zenus to put the Green Wave ahead, 30-29, with 8:33 left in the game before Casey's big run. Casey also scored on runs of 25, 14 and 1 yard. Nick Beauregard added a 62-yard TD run for the Panthers, who led 23-0 in the second quarter and 23-8 at halftime. Izzy Ricketson ran for a 10-yard TD for Abington.

Middleboro 35, Carver 20: Tyler Lennox threw three TD passes, but the Crusaders (3-8) fell to the Sachems (8-3) on the road. Jacob Briggs ran for three TDs and threw a 25-yard TD pass to Caiden Cariullo in the win. Roberty Henry ran for a 9-yard TD.

Rockland 35, East Bridgewater 0: Jacob Coulstring, Lucas Leander and Jordan Depina combined to rush for 339 yards and four TDs to power the visiting Bulldogs (8-3) over the Vikings (3-8). Coulstring ran 13 times for 121 yards and scored on a 65-yard run. Leander ran six times for 111 yards and scored on a 73-yard run. And Depina carried 10 times for 107 yards and scored on runs of 15 and 14 yards for Rockland's first two scores. Austin Clarke had a 30-yard pick-six. Three other Bulldogs had interceptions (Gaven Wardwell, Terran William and Depina) and Logan Rogers had a strip-sack.

Hull 24, Cohasset 10: The Pirates (12-0) tuned up for their Division 8 Super Bowl matchup against KIPP Academy by winning the South Shore League Tobin Division crown for the first time since 1996 at neutral-site Hingham High. QB Luke Richardson ran for one touchdown and threw a 62-yard scoring pass to John Gianibas as Hull broke open a 10-10 tie in the second half. Cohasset, whose bid for a second straight Division 7 state crown ended in the semifinals, finishes 8-3. QB Will Baker had 1-yard TD run for Cohasset, and Thomas Hansen kicked a 22-yard field goal. Nick Tiani had Hull's other TD, and Logan Chenette kicked a 41-yard field goal and was 3 for 3 on PATs.

Milton 42, Braintree 0: Owen McHugh threw four more TD passes as the host Wildcats (11-0) tuned up for their Division 3 Super Bowl matchup against Wakefield by beating the Wamps (4-7) at home to clinch the Bay State Conference Herget Division title. Three of McHugh's scoring passes went to Dillon Mackenzie, covering 3 yards, 4 yards and 10 yards. McHugh also threw a 7-yard TD pass to Shane Olsen. Nathan Ehui (5 yards) and Jack Finnegan (13 yards) added TD runs.

West Bridgewater 35, Southeastern 13: James Harris rushed for five touchdowns as the Wildcats (8-3) topped the Hawks (4-8) on the road.

Archbishop Williams 28, Cardinal Spellman 20: The Bishops (5-6) held off the Cardinals (5-7) at home as Marcus Thurston ran 27 times for 302 yards and four TDs, covering 15, 81, 4 and 57 yards. For Spellman, Jack Duffy threw a pair of TD passes to Jay Comeau (20 yards, 25 yards) and returned a fumble 45 yards for a score.

Canton 28, Stoughton 14: The Bulldogs (7-3) beat the Black Knights (3-8) at home.

Duxbury 26, Marshfield 7: The Green Dragons (11-0) tuned up for next week's Division 4 Super Bowl matchup against Grafton by winning on the road against the Rams (7-4).

Oliver Ames 28, Sharon 20: The Tigers (4-7) beat Sharon (6-5) on the road.

Scituate 42, Hingham 10: The Sailors (5-5) beat the Harbormen (6-5) at home. Junior QB Jackson Belsan was 12 of 17 passing for 233 yards with four TDs – a 15-yarder to Kieran Brenner, a 7-yarder to Sam Allard, a 61-yarder to Charlie Hartwell and a 7-yarder to Jamieson Hodlin. Belsan also had a 13-yard TD run. Senior running back/linebacker Colin Morley had three sacks and an INT on defense and added a 17-yard TD run. Hingham got a 30-yard field goal by Henry Bradshaw and a 56-yard TD run by Brenden Hill.

Pembroke 28, Silver Lake 14: The Titans (4-6) topped the Lakers (3-8) at home.

Quincy 40, North Quincy 35: Quincy QB Andrew Novak's six-touchdown game lifted the Presidents (6-4) past the Raiders (3-7). NQ trailed 21-0 early before storming back.

Plymouth South 42, Plymouth North 14: In the town battle, the host Panthers (10-1) came out on top against the Blue Eagles (2-9).

Walpole 37, Weymouth 6: The Wildcats (4-7) fell to the Timberwolves (9-2) on the road.

Catholic Memorial 42, BC High 28: The Eagles (4-7) lost to the Knights (11-0) on the road. CM will play King Philip in the Division 2 state championship game.
