On Wednesday, April 5, citizens of south Shreveport were invited to take a sneak peek into the new Brookshire Grocery Store located at the intersection of Norris Ferry Road and Southern Loop.

This new location is the second of its kind and brings shopping to south Shreveport citizens. "This is the best Brookshire's store we ever opened, and we have been around 95 years," said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Company.

This full-service grocery store offers every item a customer could want from meat to floral arrangements. It is home to a meat market, a high-quality produce section, a deli and a bakery. As well as fresh seafood, fresh sushi and wine and beer.

This new store also has a fuel center and curbside pickup. If you are in need of a coffee, CC's Coffee has a bar inside the store as well as Pizza Hut.

Standing at 56,000 square feet this new store has generated over 185 new jobs. "I remember when this store was just an idea and now, I'm here standing in this amazing, beautiful store," said Leo Stevenson, Brookshire Grocery district manager. "I'm so excited for the positive impact this store is really going to make on this community."

Brookshire's has been a part of the Shreveport market since 1961, and over the past couple of years they have been searching in south Shreveport to open this flagship store. "We look forward to growing with you for many years to come," said Brookshire.
