New South Wales Rescue Services Deliver Sandbags to Flooded Properties

Authorities in New South Wales (NSW) issued fresh evacuation orders for parts of the state’s Riverina region on Monday, November 21, as floodwaters continued to rise.

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) ordered some residents in Deniliquin, near the Victoria border, to evacuate before 10 am on Wednesday.

Citing Deniliquin’s local SES unit, the ABC reported community members had bagged 36 tonnes of sand in a day at just one site. On Monday, the unit called for more volunteers to assist with sandbags.
