Southborough police investigate burglary at Cumberland Farms on Route 9

SOUTHBOROUGH Police say they're looking for two people who broke into a Route 9 convenience store early Monday morning.

The two unknown suspects attempted to break into an ATM at Cumberland Farms, 365 Turnpike Road, Southborough Police Chief Ryan Newell said in a statement.

An employee called 911 from the store at 3:50 a.m. after arriving and upon discovering that someone had tampered with the ATM.

Police reviewed security footage and a video showed two masked people smashing the front glass door with a crowbar at 2:42 a.m. to break into the store. The suspects then attempted to break into the ATM, but were unsuccessful, police said.

"Both individuals fled the store on foot after being unable to enter the ATM," police said in the release.
