SouthCoast in Action: A look at Whaling City Baseball action from July 11-14

Here's a look at recent Whaling City Youth Baseball action:

Monday, July 11

T S Sports 21, Table 8 Restaurant 2: Donovan Libby tossed a no-hitter in what can only be described as a dominating performance by both Libby and his team. Libby struck out nine in a complete-game effort on the hill. Libby also stroked two hits and scored three times. Jacob Antonio continued his steady play with two hits and three runs scored to propel T S Sports to another win and stay in the thick of the playoff push.

McCann & Son’s 23, Amaral’s Linguica 1: Nick Frias had three hits, scored four runs, and also picked up the win on the mound for the Paint Crew. Jack Anderson had a monster game, he scored four times, knocked in eight runs, and hit two home runs. Quentin Frias had a great game as well going 3 for 3 with a home run. Ruben Vazquez recorded his first two career hits for McCann & Son’s. Aviana Pacheco ripped her first career hit for Amaral’s with a second inning triple.

Southcoast Towing 8, Dave’s 4: Kolin DaSilva was the winning pitcher for Southcoast Towing, he struck out 13 while scattering five Dave’s hits. Drew Alfaiate had three hits and knocked in three runs, while Owen Tweedie doubled to lead the Tow Company offense. Dave’s was led by Chayse Mello who tripled twice and Nathan Cook who knocked in all four Dave’s runs.

Tuesday, July 12

Amaral’s Linguica 12, Kitchens & Baths 3: Aiden Arunsi doubled and hit a home run for Amaral’s, he also scored twice to lead his team to a big win over K & B. Jayce Cabral and Ben Valente combined to scatter six hits and limit K & B to only three runs . Don Lopes Jr had two hits for K & B.

Southcoast Towing 13, N B Fire 1: Kolin DaSilva had three hits including a home run. Drew Alfaiate also had three hits and scored three times. Owen Tweedie chipped in with a double, Jose Martinez scored twice as well. Tweedie was the winning pitcher, throwing a no hitter and striking out 10 N B Fire hitters along the way.

Palace Pizza 8, Table 8 Restaurant 2: Landon Florent was the winning pitcher for Palace Pizza. Liam Cubero ripped two hits knocking in three runs. Thomas Mahar scored twice, Matteo Pacheco and Sylas Jorge chipped in with a hit each for the Pizza Crew. Carter Bolahrino stroked a two run home run for Table 8 Restaurant.

McCann & Son’s  8, A.C.G. 1: Nick Frias scored twice. Jack Anderson did as well, as the Paint Crew took advantage of three ACG errors to earn a hard-fought victory. Anderson was the winning pitcher striking out 17 while allowing just two hits. Zach Aguiar and Jacob Cepeda  had the lone hits for A.C.G.

LeBeau’s 8, DeBross Oil 4: Ben Viera scored twice, Kyle Soares doubled and homered, Lucas Greene ripped three hits, and Lucas Souza chipped in with two hits and an RBI to help lead LeBeau’s past DeBross. Jaiden Hebert and Max Mutnansky had the lone hits for the Oilers. Kyle Soares struck out 13 DeBross hitter while picking up the win.

Wednesday, July 13

LeBeau’s 14, Wonder Bowl 2: Ben Viera scattered four hits and struck out 16 Wonder Bowl hitters while picking up the win. Offensively Viera helped his cause out by rapping out two doubles. Kyle Soares scored three times, Lucas Souza drove in three runs., however the main man with the bat on this night would be Lucas Greene who launched two home runs and drove in five runs to lead his team to the win. Kaleb Braga had two hits for Wonder Bowl.

Tremblay Bus  9, Palace Pizza 9: Cam Riccio and Syncere Lugo had three hits each, Tucker Wilcox chipped in with two hits, and Landon Morro got his first career hit as well as the Bus Company and the Pizza crew battled to a 9-9 tie. Sylas Jorge had two hits, Landon Florent and Thomas Mahar scored twice for Palace Pizza.

DeBross Oil 5, Kitchens & Baths 3: Gavin Pacheco was the winning pitcher for DeBross striking out six K & B hitters while scattering six hits. Don Lopes Jr and Evan Sousa had two hits each for K & B. Max Mutnansky scored twice and drove in two runs, Reed LaPlante, Jaiden Hebert and Parker Pacheco all had key hits to lead the Oilers to the win.

Thursday, July 14

Tremblay Bus 13, N.B. Fire 1: Cam Riccio tossed a no-hitter for Tremblay Bus, he struck out ten and only walked two Fire Department hitters. Tucker Wilcox scored twice, Syncere Lugo doubled, and Santos Alvarez had two hits and scored twice to help lead the Bus Company to the win.

Wonder Bowl  6,  A.C.G. 6: Ryan Maclean scored twice, Colton Almeida ripped two doubles, Owen Rene and Zach Aguiar stroked doubles to help A.C.G. earn a hard fought tie with Wonder Bowl. Cole Devlin chipped in for Wonder Bowl with two hits. Jeremiah Serrano and James Markel also had big hits for Wonder Bowl.

T. S. Sports 5, Dave’s 4: Chayse Mello had two hits and scored twice. Nathan Cook struck out eight and allowed just one run over the four innings he worked on the mound for Dave’s. However T.S. Sports would put four big runs on the board in the fifth inning to grab the lead. Wesley Rodrigues recorded his first career hit, Jacob Rebello and Aiden DaSilva also had big hits to help secure a come from behind win for T.S. Sports and their starting pitcher Donovan Libby.
