SouthCoast high school scores and highlights from Friday, May 27

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from Friday's high school action on the SouthCoast.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Dartmouth 17, Middleboro 3

Sorelle Lawton scored six goals to surpass 200 for her career. She also had one assist. Meredith Sylvia had four goals and one assist while Ava Crane added three goals. Katie Lamothe (one goal and three assists), Hannah Sullivan (one goal and one assist), Kayla McGee (one goal), Remy Barber (one goal), Grace Haskell (two assists), Kat Cheesebro (one assist) and Isabel Fera (one assist) also contributed on offense while Molly Rioux made 13 saves. Dartmouth (16-1-1, 3-0 SEC) hosts New Bedford on Tuesday for Senior Night.

Apponequet 16, Dighton-Rehoboth 6

Abby Vincent scored four goals to reach 100 for her career. Abby Bradley and Emilia Keane also scored four times while Riley Levrault added three goals. Addie Taylor had two goals and Celia Hiller chipped in with one. Allison Arruda had 10 saves in net. The Lakers (12-5) visit New Bedford on Wednesday.

New Bedford 15, Taunton 6

Hannah Blanchard scored four goals to pace the Whalers on offense while Nora Blanchard and Tatum Reis had three apiece. Kennedy Franklin added two. Lexi Thompson, Vanessa Bucha and Tari Pereira each scored once. The Whalers (10-4) visit Dartmouth on Tuesday.

BOYS LACROSSE

Middleboro 14, Dartmouth 10

Jackson Hart had a hand in five goals, scoring three and assisting on a pair to lead Dartmouth. Baron Dutra (three goals), Ryan Falcon (two goals and one assist) and Graham White (two goals) also contributed on offense while JT Charrier had 13 saves.

Fairhaven 11, Seekonk 2

Cadence Chase notched four goals and one assist to power the Blue Devils in their regular season finale. Peter Joseph added two goals and two assists while Tyler Burke had one goal and three assists. Isaiah Burlinson, Barrett Becotte (assist), Owen Centeio and Hugo Suprenant each scored one goal while Westin Chase had an assist. Shea Cripps made nine saves. Fairhaven (10-8, 5-7 SCC) waits for the tournament seedings by the MIAA.

SOFTBALL

New Bedford 2, Apponequet 0

Lilly Gray was the winning pitcher as she pitched a complete-game, two-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts. It was Gray’s third shutout of the week. Hayleigh Chenard scored the first run on an RBI single by Amelia Davis. Sydnee Ramos scored the second run on a throwing error. Lily Gonet had two singles. The Whalers (14-6, 6-2 SEC) await the tournament pairing from the MIAA.

BASEBALL

Sandwich 3, Fairhaven 0

Jason Perry pitched six innings, allowing one earned run with five walks and four strikeouts. Aiden Hassey went 1-for-4 while Jack Cunha was 2-for-3. Jaren Megan, Connor Sorelle and Luke Gomes each went 1-for-3. “We had runners in scoring position in the second, third and fourth and couldn't get the hit,” said Fairhaven head coach Rudy Bulgar. The Blue Devils (11-8, 7-6 SCC) await the tournament brackets.
