SouthCoast high school scores and highlights from Monday, Oct. 24

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from Monday's high school action on the SouthCoast.

FIELD HOCKEY

New Bedford 4, Old Rochester 0

Gabby Tsaliogos had two goals while Hannah Blanchard and Tatum Reis each scored once. The Whalers (6-6-4) host Bishop Stang on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Old Rochester 3, Apponequet 1

For Apponequet, Lacie Nolin had 14 serving points while Delaney Jacobsen and Samantha Dingee had six kills apiece. The Lakers (7-12, 3-9 SCC) host Bourne on Wednesday.

Old Colony 3, Bristol-Plymouth 2

Alyssa Couto led the Cougars with six assists, eight digs and one ace while Maddie Laughlin had three aces and two kills. Morgan Berry (one ace, one kill and three blocks), Samantha Tavares (one ace, two kills and four digs), Allison Bumpus (two aces, three kills and eight digs), Ambra Arsenault (two aces and six digs) and McKenna Benoit (one ace and one dig) also contributed. Old Colony (4-14, 2-9 MAC) visits Tri-County on Wednesday.

Bourne 3, Wareham 0

Riley Florindo had 16 digs and was 13 of 13 serving with one ace while Olivia Lacava added six digs, 10 assists and two aces. Julia McDuffy contributed two digs and two kills and Evie Francis chipped in with three digs, five kills and 12 service receptions.

Case 3, Fairhaven 1

Kate Magalhaes had nine kills and 11 digs and was 12 of 12 serving with one ace while Kiana Coppa chipped in with eight kills and three blocks. Abby Thomas added six kills, two aces and seven digs while Abbey Lopes contributed 14 digs and 16 assists and was 14 of 16 serving with one ace. Laura Hubert had 10 blocks and one kill while Shealynn Dorschied had 41 of 43 service receptions with 11 digs and two aces. The Blue Devils (11-4, 8-4 SCC) visit Old Rochester on Wednesday.

Duxbury 3, Dartmouth 1

Despite the loss, Lauren Augusto got her 1,000 career assist. She is the third player in Dartmouth High history to reach the milestone. She finished the game with 43 assists and had 19 digs. “She gave this game everything she had,” said Dartmouth head coach Rachel Lassey. Ava Crane led Dartmouth with 21 kills and was 18 of 20 on serve receive with 18 digs. Gaby Velazquez was 27 of 31 on serve receive with 10 digs while Erynn Jasparro had eight kills. Brooke Davis contributed 17 digs while Olivia Arruda was 19 of 22 on serve receive. Adeline Ablett added eight kills while Haley Jenkins had five. Dartmouth (15-3) faces Barnstable on Wednesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Old Colony 2, Wareham 1

Old Colony’s Avrie Oliveria showed why she is one of the better players in the Mayflower Conference. "She had one assist but her play with the ball at her feet was the difference in a very physical game against Wareham,” said Old Colony head coach Tom Lee Martins. Lily Serra got the scoring started with a hard shot into the left corner with the assist from Faith Young, who's hard work has earned her to start for injured senior Ellie White. The second goal was just a scrappy effort goal from Marron Sheehan with Oliveria assisting. For Wareham (1-13-3), Ryann Tripp made 12 saves in net including two breakaways. Sienna Cavallo scored in the 79th minute off an Alexis Petterson corner. The Vikings host Avon on Wednesday. The Cougars (5-7-4, 3-5-3 MAC) host Blue Hills on Wednesday.
