SouthCoast high school scores and highlights from Dec. 18-19

Here's a look at the highlights from SouthCoast high school action from Dec. 18-19.

BOYS HOCKEY

Dartmouth 4, Westfield 1

Damien Medeiros notched three goals while JC Frates added one goal and three assists to power Dartmouth in the championship game of the Ryan Kent Memorial Tournament at Gallo. Medeiros was named tournament MVP. Dartmouth (2-0) hosts Stoughton on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Bishop Stang 9, Matignon 1

Behind a balanced offensive attack, the Spartans captured their third win. Justin Gouveia scored three goals and had one assist while Jack Jedrey (three assists), Quinn Pine (three assists), Seamus Marshall (two assists), Tyler Beck, Aidan Cousineau and Adyn Simmons each scored a goal. Kyle Cousineau and Devon Beck added an assist apiece. Brayden Bennett had 13 saves and had zero goals against while Carter Vane had three saves. Stang (3-0-0, 1-0-0 CCL) hosts Southeastern at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Old Rochester 5, East Bridgewater 4

Kellan Geake scored two goals while Liz Kilpatrick had two assists. Lilly Cook and Kassidy Hill played a great game on defense and Ryann Tripp got the win between the pipes for the Bulldogs (2-1).

Austin Prep 8, Stang 0

Sophia Babineau faced 50 shots and stopped 42 of them. The Spartans (1-2-0, 1-1-0 CCL) visit St. Joe’s on Wednesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Old Rochester 73, Martha’s Vineyard 39

Jacob Smith scored a team-high 17 points for Old Rochester while Steve Morrell had 14 and Sawyer Fox 12 behind a balanced offensive attack. Chase Besanscon added 10 points and eight rebounds while Liam Geraghty had seven points, five rebounds and five assists. The Bulldogs (2-0) host GNB Voc-Tech on Tuesday.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Durfee 87, Bishop Stang 69

The Spartans got first-place finishes by Holly Erickson in the 200 freestyle, Sophie Oullett in the 100 backstroke and Camille Gendron in diving as well as the 200 freestyle relay of Gendron, Ella Hayes, Hanna Ramalho and Erickson.

BOYS SWIMMING

Bishop Stang 78, Durfee 72

Joseph Tong won the backstroke while Liam Earl and Kevin Santiago led the way.

WRESTLING

Holyoke Tournament

New Bedford placed third out of 14 teams thanks to first-place finishes from Alex Teixiera (120) and Jose Bonilla (195). The Whalers also got top finishes from Nate Caron at 126 (second), Luis Garcia at 106 (third), Steven Morales at 160 (third), Anderson Cruz at 182 (third) and Luis Lopez at 285 (third). New Bedford visits Middleboro on Wednesday.

BOYS TRACK

Old Rochester 58, Fairhaven 28

The Bulldogs (1-0) won thanks to first-place finishes from Calder Eaton in the hurdles (9.8), Leo Schiappa in the dash (6.8) and 300 (40.9), Teddy Carroll in the 600 (1:41.4), Murray Copps in the 2-mile (11:21.8) and John Kassabaian in the high jump (5-4) as well as the 4x400 team (4:08.2) of Carroll, Kassabian, Matt Curry and Sam Balsis. Winners for Fairhaven were Kevin Moura in the shot put (32-4), Mason Sweet in the mile (5:17) and Ian Pereira in the 1,000 (3:02). The Blue Devils (0-1) face Bourne on Jan. 6 at GNB Voc-Tech.

Seekonk 59, Apponequet 22

Apponequet got first place finishes from Aydan Fournier in the 1,000 and Marcellus Colley in the 55 hurdles. Ian Nickerson was second in the high jump and third in both dash and shot put. The Lakers (0-1) visit GNB Voc-Tech on Wednesday.

Dighton-Rehoboth 49, Wareham 23

Kevin DeCollibus won the 55-meter dash (6.7) and Garret Goodman won the shot put (43-7.5) for Wareham. The Vikings (0-1) face Seekonk on Wednesday at GNB Voc-Tech.

GNB Voc-Tech 65, Bourne 12

The Bears got first-place finishes from Ethan Fagundes in the 55 hurdles (8.4) and 300 (38.9), Arin Monast in the mile (5:17) and 2-mile (13:37), Jared Quann in the 55 (6.8), Antonio Caneira in the 600 (1:42.0) and Daniel Ward in the 1,000 (3:16) and high jump (5-6). The Bears (1-0) host Apponequet on Wednesday.

GIRLS TRACK

Old Rochester 80, Fairhaven 6

Jen Williams and Audrey Thomas each won two events to power the Bulldogs (1-0). Williams was first in the hurdles (8.5) and high jump (5-00) while Thomas won the dash (7.9) and 300 (47.7). ORR also got wins from Cameran Weaver in the 600 (1:58.5), Madeline Dugas in the 1,000 (3:47), Corrine Robert in the 2-mile (14:25), Taylor Greene in the shot put (29-4) and Alexia Gonsalves in the mile (6:14.5) as well as the 4x400 (5:07) team of Weaver, Aubrey Heise, Scarlet Patnaude and Liz Feeney. For Fairhaven, Lilly LaFountain was second in the 2-mile (15:45). The Blue Devils (0-1) face Bourne on Jan. 6 at GNB Voc-Tech.

Seekonk 61, Apponequet 25

The Lakers got first-place finishes from Niamh Gallagher in the 55 hurdles and Mia Comeau in the shot put as well as the 4x400 relay of Emilia Keane, Gallagher, Ava Wisniewski and Emerson Riccardi. The Lakers (0-1) visit GNB Voc-Tech on Wednesday.

Dighton-Rehoboth 44, Wareham 24

For Wareham, Sienna Cabe won the 55 hurdles (10.5) and Carly Delgado won the high jump (4-4). The Vikings (0-1) face Seekonk on Wednesday at GNB Voc-Tech.

GNB Voc-Tech 48, Bourne 34

The Bears got wins from Autum Racine in the 2-mile (17:00), Monica Teves in the 55 hurdles (10.7) and Diana Jesus in the shot put (28-5). Voc-Tech (1-0) hosts Apponequet on Wednesday.
