Southeastern Community Action Partnership scheduled resource fair Thursday

Aug. 24—LUMBERTON — The Southeastern Community Action Partnership is holding on Thursday a community resource fair for program members at Hyde Park Baptist Church on 301 N. Roberts Ave.

The event will begin for seniors at 10 a.m. Thursday and for all members at 11 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m. Funding was through the SCAP's CARES program.

Free services for attendees include a giveaway of Walmart and Food Lion gift cards, and shoes from Samaritan's Feet, with backpacks and produce boxes available to those who need them.

Job services will be provided by NC Works and Staffing Alliance. Also present will be Head Start, Early Head Start, SCAP's own program for Housing, Two Hawk City of Lumberton Employee Services, Richmond Community College and Kingdom Community Development.

Health needs will be addressed with the distribution of safety kits and access to COVID-19 booster shots and vaccinations.
