'Southern Charm' Star Thomas Ravenel's Friend Hit With Felony For Falsely Accusing Kathryn Dennis Of Burglary

“Southern Charm” star Thomas Ravenel’s friend Lara Dawson is facing 5 years behind bars after she falsely accused Kathryn Dennis of burglary.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, South Carolina prosecutors have charged 33-year-old Dawson with a felony charge of filing a false police report. If convicted Dawson is facing years behind bars and a one thousand dollar fine.

The charge stems from an incident on September 27 where Dawson called the police. She claimed Dennis was breaking into her home. Officers quickly responded to the alleged burglary in progress.

The police report states Dawson described Dennis as a “former friend.”. She claimed Dennis was with a large man in a red shirt and driving in a black Honda SUV, with a Texas license plate.

Dawson told police she watched Dennis go to the front and back door. She accused her of taking something to her car from inside the home. She also claimed the property had signs of forced entry on her porch door.

Officers did not see any signs of forced entry or anybody inside the home. The report read, “There was what appeared to be pre-existing damage to the framing on the lower part of the door. The exposed wood looked aged and roughly in the same condition to the rest of the framing.”

Police called Dennis’ lawyer who had the reality star in her office. Dennis had been with her lawyer since 11:50 am which was hours before the alleged burglary started. Lara Dawson was arrested and charged for filing a false police report. Officers arrested her and booked her into jail. Her bond was set at $1,500.

Dawson was released the following day on September 28. She is set to appear in court later this month for her first hearing.

Dawson was being involved in Dennis’ custody battle with Ravenel. She was Ravenel’s ex-girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, former roommate. She provided a declaration explaining she tried to mediate the issues with Dennis and Ravenel.

Recently, the nasty custody battle over their kids Kensie and Saint came to an end. Per their deal, the two will share joint physical and legal custody. Ravenel will be labeled the primary custodian.

They both agreed to raise their kids in the Christian faith, split the holidays and will agreed not to introduce new romantic partners to the kids.

Dennis will not allow their children to watch “Southern Charm”, specifically not the reunion show. The kids will be able to watch the show when they turn 13-years-old.

The agreement read, “The parties now consider it to be in their best interests and in accord with the best interests and welfare of their children to settle between themselves all matters in issue and have reached a permanent and complete agreement and now wish to reduce their agreement to writing and desire that it shall constitute the total agreement between them.”

Ravenel’s lawyer said, “The parties’ custody agreement awarded Mr. Ravenel primary legal custody of the minor children. The parties currently share physical custody of the children on a 36%/64% split, with Ms. Dennis having the children five out of fourteen overnights and Mr. Ravenel having the children nine out of fourteen overnights. This time-sharing arrangement is scheduled to change in the Summer of 2020, whereby the parties will then share physical custody of the children on a 50/50 week-on week-off basis. Ms. Dennis is required to employ a nanny during the majority of her time with the children and Mr. Ravenel has agreed to pay the nanny’s salary in lieu of child support.”
