Southern Laurel County man charged with abusing minor

Feb. 22—A southern Laurel County man is in jail on sexual offense charges after London Police issued an appeal to the public last week to help find him.

Thurman J. "Jimmy" Brock III, 24, of Lily, was arrested Friday afternoon by LPD's Special Investigation Unit on charges of Promoting a Minor (under 16) in a Sexual Performance and first-degree Sexual Abuse — Victim under 12 Years of Age from a Laurel County indictment dating back to November.

The day prior, the department had issued a public appeal to help locate Brock — noting that he was known to be in the vicinity of Williamsburg or Jellico, Tenn.

However, Brock was ultimately served with the indictment at his residence by London K9 Officer Dylan Messer around 1:37 p.m. Friday.

Brock is currently lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond. A court date wasn't available at press time.
