Southern Living says this Charlotte steakhouse is among the best in the South

North Carolina is home to dozens of delicious restaurants and some of the “most legendary” steakhouses in the South, according to a new report.

Southern Living released a list of the best steakhouses in the region, and a few across the state were highlighted as top spots for any occasion, including one popular Charlotte restaurant.

Beef ‘n Bottle Steakhouse in South Charlotte ranked 20th on the list.

“Outlined in red neon lighting, Beef ‘n Bottle’s identity can be slightly misleading from the outside looking in. When you walk through the front doors, you’ll be greeted by a warm but upscale dining room marked by white-linen tablecloths and cozy candlelight,” Southern Living says. “A staple since 1958, the restaurant is open for dinner seven days a week.”

Even after all of these years, the city’s oldest steakhouse and its menu haven’t changed much, CharlotteFive found in its Charlotte’s Classic Eats series. While there’s been upgrades to the restaurant’s building and new foods to add variety, the restaurant has remained a staple in the area nonetheless.

“What makes this place special is that we have been in the same spot over the years. I have talked to people who have moved back and forth, and we are still right here,”co-owner and general manager Rick Bouman told CharlotteFive back in 2021. “Customers can depend on us. They can depend on us for being here, for our food, and our service.”
