HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss baseball righthander Tanner Hall has made USA Baseball's 26-man roster for the upcoming Honkbalweek Haarlem tournament in Holland.

The US Collegiate National Team will begin tournament play on July 9 against Japan. The Americans are also slated to take on Cuba, Curaçao, Italy and the Netherlands in round-robin action. The top four teams will advance to the semifinal round, which begins July 15.

Hall was one of the best starters in college baseball throughout 2022, pitching to a 2.81 ERA with 146 strikeouts and 14 walks.

Named to the 51-man pre-tournament camp by Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco, Hall threw three innings of one-run ball in an intrasquad scrimmage to help him claim a spot on the 26-man roster.

The Zachary, Louisiana, native is the first Southern Miss player to compete in an international tournament for USA Baseball since reliever Tony Phillips partook in the 1991 Pan American Games.

Hall is not the only player with ties to the Golden Eagles who will be on the plane.

Former Southern Miss starter Hurston Waldrep, who entered the transfer portal last week, is set to join Hall in Europe.
