Southern Miss women's basketball not selected for 2023 WNIT

Southern Miss women's basketball was not selected for the 2023 NCAA Tournament or the WNIT.

Coach Joye Lee-McNelis helped lead Southern Miss (21-10, 13-5 SBC) to its most conference wins since 2014-15 and a share of the Sun Belt Conference regular-season title with James Madison and Texas State.

The Golden Eagles advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament and lost 85-57 to the Bobcats.

Southern Miss was led in scoring by Domonique Davis. The Sun Belt Conference first-team selection averaged a team-high 18 points on 43% shooting along with 4.6 rebounds in 30 games. Davis was aided by Melyia Grayson. The Hattiesburg native averaged 11.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in 27 games.

The Golden Eagles won their last five conference games, including a 69-64 overtime victory over Louisiana in the regular-season finale to clinch a share of the conference title.
