CHILLICOTHE― Have you ever wanted to write a book or short story? Have you already written a book but the publishing side of things got confusing? Either way the Southern Ohio Writers' Group can help you.

The Southern Ohio Writer’s Group was started in 2014 and has been meeting at the Pump House for several years. Together they help provide supportive, positive critiques for manuscripts of any genre as well as poetry. They also help curious readers find new authors that may interest them. The group has published five anthologies of their essays, poems and short stories.

The group will be holding a free writing seminar on Nov. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pump House Center for the Arts in Yoctangee Park. During lunch participants will be able to take part in a question and answer session with local author Donald Ray Pollock. Pollock is best known for his novel "Devil all the Time" which was later made into a Netflix film starring Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch, bottled water will be provided.
