Southern Rock legends Molly Hatchet and special guest Strayin’ Anchors perform at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2022.

The band's other three Florida stops include Ace Café Orlando on Sept. 9; The Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on Oct. 21; Space Coast State Fair in Viera on Nov. 18.

Tickets went on sale Aug. 12, at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre box office and ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $28 to $32. The box office, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, accepts credit or debit cards only. Avoid ticket fees by purchasing tickets in person. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Box Office remains closed.

Guitarist Dave Hlubek created Molly Hatchet in Jacksonville in 1971. Epic released Molly Hatchet's self-titled debut album in 1978, which would reach multi-platinum status. During the early days, the band toured with Aerosmith, Bob Seger and The Rolling Stones.

From 1971 to 1976, there was a shuffling of members. In 1976, the group settled on an official lineup. All of the members from 1976 have died. Guitarist Steve Holland died in 2020, singer Phil McCormack died in 2019, guitarist Hlubek and bassist Banner Thomas died in 2017, dummer Bruce Crump died in 2015, guitarist Duane Roland died in 2006 and singer Danny Joe Brown died in 2005.

Guitarist Bobby Ingram, who joined in 1986, has continued writing music and keeping the band's legacy alive.

Molly Hatchet’s line-up includes Ingram on guitar (1987-present), John Galvin on keyboards (1984–1990, 1995–present), Shawn Beamer on drums (2001-2011, 2013-present), Tim Lindsey on bass (2003-present), and Jimmy Elkins on vocals (2019-present). Elkins took over lead vocals in 2019 after McCormack's death.
