- You may notice a lot of people are wearing blue today, including me. And there's a special reason-- it's World Autism Awareness Day. In fact, this is Autism Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the disorder that affects about one in every 54 kids, according to the CDC. Children with autism can face a variety of challenges, like difficulty communicating. CBS 2 and KCAL 9 are proud to be supporting the effort for greater understanding and acceptance of autism. Take a selfie wearing something blue, and post it to social media with the hashtag #worldautismday, or light it up blue, and don't forget to hashtag us at #cbsla.
