A new spot to score barbecue, sandwiches and desserts has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to North Burnett, called Southside Market, is located at 10515 N. Mopac Expressway, Suite B-225.

The menu features various sandwiches and meat plates filled with pork steak, prime brisket and beef sausage. Owner and third-generation pitmaster Bryan Bracewell is at the helm of this new restaurant, which also serves up side dishes like mac and cheese, potato salad and beans, and cobbler for dessert. The online store offers smoked meats, its Texas Bold Barbecue and other sauces, gift sets and more.

Southside Market has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Sean C., who reviewed the new spot on Dec. 2., wrote, “I ordered the loaded baked potato and the sausage sandwich. The potato was amazing, it was loaded with chopped brisket, butter, sour cream and cheese. It was delicious and made a great side to sausage sandwich."

And Wes O. wrote, "I tried the three meat plate. The moist brisket was sliced well and had a nice bark and smoke ring. The pork steak was well done and is one of the better pork BBQ dishes out there."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Southside Market is open from 10:30 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday–Thursday and Sunday and 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
