Southwest airplane emergency lands at Columbus airport
A Southwest Airlines flight scheduled to arrive in Kentucky made an emergency landing in Columbus Sunday morning.

John Glenn Columbus International Airport received an alert shortly before 9 a.m. from a Southwest flight stating that they needed to make an emergency landing due to pressurization issues, a spokesperson for the airport told WBNS.
The flight was headed to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport before having to make the emergency landing.
During the need for an emergency landing, crews on board requested “priority handling” from air traffic controllers, the spokesperson said in a statement.
With coordination between air traffic controllers and crews on board, the airplane was able to land with no reported injuries.
The aircraft was taxied to the gate and deboarded. It was then placed out of service for further review.
Passengers boarded another aircraft to continue their trip to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, their intended destination.
“We apologize to these Customers for their delayed arrival and thank them for their patience. Our Crews train extensively for these types of events and there is no higher priority at Southwest than the Safety of our Crew and Customers,” the spokesperson said.
