Southwest Ohio boys, girls basketball stat leaders heading into weekend of Jan. 21-23

Going into the weekend of Jan. 21-23, there are several Southwest Ohio boys and girls basketball players putting up big numbers.

The statistics can vary by league and strength of schedule, but a number of locals have some eye-popping numbers.

On top of the area in scoring is Woodward senior Paul McMillan IV at 29.4 with Oyler's Tatiyana Canady leading the girls at 26.7 per game. The top boys rebounder is Mariemont's Ethan Malafa at 11.5 per game, while Miami Valley Christian Academy's Melody Arnett pulls down an amazing 23.2 for the Lions.

Taft's Mekhi Elmore and Woodward's Kanye Moreland lead boys in assists at 5.8 per game with Withrow's Destiny Rice dishing out 8.3 dimes.

Western Brown football prospect Drew Novak tops all boys in blocks with 4.1 per game. At Woodward, Deborah Davenport tops that with 6.1 per contest.

Finally, Socko Stalzer of Mariemont averages 4.4 steals per game for boys. Gamble Montessori's Damysia Knox is at seven swipes per game.
