SpaceX Launches Satellite on Fifth Attempt After Days of Disruption

SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket on January 31 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, sending a satellite system into orbit on the fifth attempt after days of disruptions.

Unfavorable weather conditions led to the cancelation of launch attempts on the previous Thursday through to Saturday, with Sunday’s liftoff foiled by a ship entering the hazard area.

SpaceX said the Cosmo-SkyMed Second Generation FM2, an Earth-observation satellite, successfully deployed from the rocket.
